Pirate's Cove!

for brian's work we got to go to pirate's cove in boulder city, nv near las vegas for 3 days. words can not describe how awesome it was. prior to going i knew it would be great, but i had no idea how great. the whole Neff office and the families of the employees got to go. the purpose for the trip was to shoot the spring/summer 2012 Neff catalog. but for the wives and kids it was all for fun!. Pirate's cove is a vacation home for the owner of Nuskin. it is a 20 room, 25 bathroom mansion. it took brian and i about an hour to explore the whole place. it has a full gym, an indoor basketball court, 3 pools, 2 amazing water slides, huge platforms (actually crows nests on the mast of a ship) for jumping good food, an ice cream and slushy machine right outside our door and the list goes on. our bedroom had a sauna and steam shower in the room! it was unbelievable and the whole place is covered with pirate themed things and skeletons. navy has been obsessed with pirate's of the caribbean for a few months now so for her this place a dream come true. i didn't take many pictures cuz i was in the water most of the time and the few i have in no was do it justice. there was a photographer and video guys there the whole time though so i'll show those when i can, but for now here you are:

so we are back from Bonner's Ferry and it was awesome! i love to go to my parents house. navy can play outside, bug hunting, mud painting, hiking and adventure seeking. my dad FINALLY got to meet audio and they are the best of buddies.

Teija made Audio this shirt and it is already too small, so i thought i would get at least one picture of him in it. Before he was born she always called him "Oscar Meyer Wiener Osborne" so she designed and made him a shirt that says it!! so cute!!

a few weekends ago we went to the aquarium in Santa Barbara only about a half an hour north of us. here is navy petting a shark. she is fearless and i love it! check out her cute Neff cupcake beanie!

after the aquarium we went shopping and we just happened to run into jennie garth and her husband Peter Facinelli and their kids (navy was pretty excited to see Carlisle Cullen...if i have to admit it, i was too. haha). here's jennie in the backgroud!!!! Navy had fun playing with the masks at that store and jennie bought one of her kids some cowboy boots :) (Just f.y.i.)

it's been awhile since i updated my blog! sorry guys! life with 2 kids is busy but fun. i'm lucky that Navy LOVES her preschool and is really good at playing by herself. Audio and her seriously love each other. i'm so lucky that i never had to deal with any jealousy issues. Navy is the big sister that anyone would love and Audio is lucky enough to have! Next Tuesday we leave for Bonner's Ferry to visit my parents in their new house. My dad hasn't even met Audio yet, so we are all really excited! we will be there for a whole month! so so fun!!
i just realized that there are no pics of me on here this time. the ones i tried didn't work, so i'll have to get brian's help when he gets home from work. i just might have to put some more pictures up again soon ;)

Navy had a great birthday! we went and saw Tangled which we loved and then met dad at Chucky Cheese. she loved every minute of it! here is Navy on her favorite ride!

here are some yummy christmas treats navy and i have made. it's not making it too easy to get back in my jeans, but i sure love the holidays and all the good food!

so anyone that knows navy, knows that she is not one to follow the crowd. she does things in her own way. so when her teacher at church told me they were doing a nativity for the christmas party and that all the kids in navy's class were supposed to sheep but navy said she was going to be a camel, none of us were surprised. luckily her teachers are easy and know navy well enough to know that she won't change her mind, they just said to me "good luck with that costume!" so here is what we came up with:

Thanksgiving was so awesome. We were lucky enough to be invited to my best friend sara's family's house in Huntington Beach. It was so great! yummy yummy food, one of my best friends, and lot's of fun kids for Navy to play with. Thank you so much Powells!!
Thanksgiving night Teija flew into LAX for a last minute holiday visit and it was sooooo much fun to have her. Friday morning she went surfing with Brian while Navy and Audio and I hung out on the beach. Then we made Thanksgiving dinner with all the yummy food Nan and Sally bought us. it was so good!!! thanks guys! we went shopping, went to some parks, and hung out at the beach and pretty much enjoyed beautiful Ventura!! i wish you lived her De!
now we are busy making christmas decorations and getting ready for the next holiday which we will spend in UTAH!!! watch out family and friends...navy and audio are on the way!!!

audio is 3 and a half weeks old and it feels like he has always been here. i can't really remember what it was like to just have navy. so far he is such a good and easy baby. we have had lot's of visitors that have helped a ton with playing with the beans. first my mom came, then sally and shane, then brian's dad, then brian's mom and sister again, and now tomorrow my sister will get here for a last minute thanksgiving weekend visit! it has been great! thanks everyone for your help!

so i have been wanting to write about my labor just so i have it recorded somewhere. it was was such an amazing experience and so different then it was with Navy. with navy it was really easy and slow. i had an epidural after about 7 hours of slow labor and didn't have her until about 8 hours after that. i didn't feel a thing and things went really smooth.
with audio, things went really smooth but they went REALLY fast! On Halloween night we went to brian's boss' parents house for a party. i was joking with everyone that the baby was never going to come cuz i had no signs of labor at all. we had tons of fun at the party and left around 10 PM. we got home and went to bed and around 1:15 AM i woke up with what i thought must be a contraction. it was kinda painful but nothing too crazy. i laid there for a little while waiting to have another one and about 7 minutes later i did. i decided to sit up and start timing them. they just kept coming about 5 minutes apart but they still weren't too painful. i was thinking i could probaby just hang out until the morning so i wouldn't have to take Navy anywhere in the middle of the night and wake people up. i went to the bathroom around 2AM and saw that i was bleeding. at this point i got a little worried cuz any sort of bleeding while pregnant is usually not a good thing. so i got on the computer and googled it and couldn't really find any answers, so i called labor and delivery at the hospital and they told me to come and they would check me out. i started packing a bag for navy and called a friend in our ward and told her we would need to drop navy off with her in a few minutes. i woke up brian and finished getting our stuff ready. on the way to the hospital my contractions were about 2 minutes apart and getting more painful, but if i hadn't been bleeding i would have stayed home. we got to the hospital a little after 3AM. they checked me in and right away offered me an epidural. i asked if they could check how far a long i was first. i was already at 7cm!!! i said they could put in an order for an epidural but that i was kind of hoping to do it naturally. turns out i was bleeding because my cervix was dilating so quickly. at around 4 we called our parents to say that we were in the hospital at about 4:15 my water broke and things started getting really intense. my doctor checked me and i was 9cm a few minutes later i told her i needed to push and she checked again and said "ok go ahead and push." i started pushing and i remember thinking "if i do this really hard and strong now i won't have to wait for another contraction and do it all again." so i pushed one time with everything that i had and out came Audio at 4:28!! 1 push, a little over an hour after we got to the hospital and only 3 hours after my first contraction. i couldn't believe it!! we called our parents and they were shocked too. my mom said she thought she would get a call sometime the late afternoon!

i felt so good and everything happened exactly as it should.
Audio was 7.85 lbs and 20 inches and totally perfect!

Neff Halloween Party!

So today is my due date and still no baby!! which in a way is just fine cuz we have more Halloween celebrations to participate in! this afternoon was Brian's work party. Bri was a mime, Navy a princess and i just drew a pumpkin on my belly. it was fun. Brian hadn't talked all day to his co-workers and didn't talk at all until the end of the party! Navy won 3rd place for best costume and she got $50 so we headed over to Target after the party and she picked out a new dress up dress !

so the countdown is on. 4 days til my due date and no signs of anything happening!!! ahhhhh! sometimes i want the little guy to be here NOW. other times i'm totally content with him hanging out. i just don't want a 10 lb. baby so i guess the sooner the better. other then trying to get ready for the babe we have been doing some fun Halloweeny things. Navy and i went a pumpkin patch with her preschool.

Navy decided that the pumpkins needed some organizing. so she spent about 15 minutes moving the evenly spaced pumpkins into a pile until i said enough was enough. i think she would would have done it all day.
Navy had a trunk or treat at her school the other day. i have been bugging her to decide what she was going to be all month and finally the day of her party i took her thrift store shopping and we found this beauty! a unicorn pegasus! navy was smitten so we made her a princess riding a Pegasus unicorn.

Saturday night we drove up to a park by our house at the top of a hill that overlooks the ocean and all of ventura. it was a beautiful night and the pictures in no way do it justice.
blahhhh! that is how i'm feeling/looking lately. oh well! not too much longer.
While we were there brian's boss and his family showed up. there little boy Jett is one of Navy's favorite friends!

The park across the street from our apartment is one of the best things about living in Ventura. It is actually an old cemetery where about 150 people are buried. there are even headstones for about 50 of them. they are all from the 1800's. it's pretty cool. on a regular day it has a great view of the ocean but on foggy days it looks like this! we love foggy days!

On Friday of labor day weekend we decided that we should do something fun for the weekend so brian called up his aunt Dana in San Francisco and we headed up there that night for the three day weekend. we spent a few days in the city just wandering around. i love that city! plus it was so fun to see his aunt and cousin sophie. this is navy down at pier 39.

So this is a funny story...as most of you know, navy lives in pretend world. in this picture she told brian, "dad i'm in a band and i play the drums. these are my ghetto glasses and this is the face i do cuz i'm in a band." she thought she was pretty cool!

A few days ago it was my birthday!! thanks everyone for my nice birthday wishes! navy and i made this cake for my birthday! navy has a small obsession with watching cake decorating tutorials on youtube. she can seriously watch them for an hour. she can tell you how to make a mermaid cake, a bunny, a barbie cake, a turtle, a robot, and this caterpillar. pretty cute huh.
Navy decided it was a girl so it needed eyelashes.
and last but not least this is my belly as of about an hour ago. it getting bigger and more uncomfortable by the day but i really can't complain. i have had such an easy pregnancy (knock on wood) and it has flown by!

i just got home from taking Navy to her first day of preschool! i'm not sure how i feel about it! i'm excited for her to learn and play and make new friends. and i'm excited to have a few hours to myself...but at the same time i miss her and don't want her to be so old and grown up! her school will be awesome though. i can literally see if from my living room window so it is just a quick walk over, and the teachers seems so fun and navy wasn't very sad or nervous to leave me at all cuz they had so many fun things set up to do. here are a few pictures...

it has been forever since i wrote anything on here and i'm real sorry about that.
life is so so so good though! we have been in ventura, ca now for a few months and i couldn't have dreamed of better a place to live. Brian found us an apartment that is perfect! we live a mile from the ocean and close to downtown and across the street from cemetary that has been turned into a park. we even can see the ocean from our front door!! it's awesome!
brian loves his job and we live close enough that he rides his bike there everyday. working for Neff has already made him a better designer and has given him so many opportunities. a few weeks ago he went to a party at the fantasy factory ! Crazy! he gets to design so much more then just t-shirts now including sunglasses, a watch, backpacks, snowboard jackets and tons more.
navy is getting real excited for her baby brother to come! she lays on my stomach and listens for him and usually ends up getting a kick in the ear! it makes her day! hopefully she will be going into preschool within the next month we're just trying to find the right one.
i'm feeling really good. be belly is definitely starting to get in way and i'm usually pretty tired but other then that i have been really lucky and have had no problems or complications.
we have been pretty busy with brian's family the last few weeks and it has been so great to have them visiting from Guam. they have lived internationally our whole marriage so it is always a special treat to get to hang out with them. thanks for everything guys!

navy and i spent the last 2 weeks with my mom and dad in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho. it was so fun to be there. navy was covered in mud pretty much everday and driving the two cats crazy. the timing couldn't have been more perfect for getting up there since we didn't know we would moving so soon.

it's official! we are leaving rexburg behind and moving to sunny ventura, ca! we couldn't be more happy! brian got the job at Neff and is one of their designers and LOVES it, we got an awesome apartment 1 mile from the beach and across the street from a park, and Navy can't wait to get back to california. we are soooo blessed and excited about our new life. we are leaving rexburg on thursday already so we have a ton to do.

the newest osborne!!! i'm about 14 weeks along, so we won't know for a few more weeks what the sex is but i think it is amazing how much like a baby it already looks! we are sooooo excited. we haven't really talked to navy about it yet cuz i think 6 months will seem like an eternity to her. but when i really start to show, i don't think we'll be able to keep it from her.

in other news, navy is obsessed with Avatar and won't let me call her anything but Jake Sully (the main character). i made her a long black braid out of yarn that she has had clipped into her hair for almost a week now!

brian left this morning to go to Ventura, CA for the next 2 weeks or so to work with a clothing company out there called Neff www.neffheadwear.com . so navy and i will be going to visit my parents while he is away. we can't wait! i have been trying to invite myself up to visit them for the last 3 months and finally they have accepted!!! haha!

we all went to a break dance battle the other night and navy was set on dancing. she talked about it all afternoon. first she wanted to dance to lady gaga's song Telephone cuz she loves the music video (i know totally inappropriate but it is current fave. she is always saying "you've been a very very bad girl gaga.") but she settled for single ladies since she knows some of the moves. so she got one of her favorite people in the world Kaitlyn (who also happens to be a hip-hop dance teacher) to go up with her (cuz you know there was no way i was gonna dance in front of 200 people). anyways she did great but only got a few moves out! she loved it and all the attention she got from people when the battle was over. i'm proud of her! i think most 3 year olds would be freaked out of all the people and yelling and cheering, but not navy. i guess when you grow up watching your daddy on stage, it becomes second nature! too cute!

we are loving rexburg now that the weather is getting a little bit less freezing. i won't say it is getting warm cuz that would definitely be an exaggeration. it is getting less freezing though. we have been going to the park, on lots of bike rides and walks and just enjoying being outside for a little while each day. life is good! brian started a blog a while ago and he actually updates his so everyone should check it out. he usually just posts work and art related things but it is still good. www.too-legitimate.blogspot.com so here are some recent pictures of life in rexburg.

don't worry though...we were very careful to explain to her that pretend tatoos are ok but that real ones are not. she seemed ok with it.
navy at a show. it is her absolute favorite thing to do. she thinks that all our friends are her BEST friends (especially corine and preston) and just loves to get out and dance and sing and socialize. she definitely takes after brian.

also last month nicole came to rexburg to visit and it was so great. i wish i had gotten some pictures. i was sad for like a week after she left cuz i just wished we could live by each other and go to lunch and walmart together everyday. maybe someday we can. we're lucky that brian can work from anywhere. should we move to reno when he is done with school? navy is still talking about her best friend nicole and her little tiny cutest dog in the whole wide world Dottie.

so today when we were all at the DI doing a little bit of shopping. i left Navy over by all the toys while i went to look at some clothes. i showed her where i would be and she was totally fine with me being like 50 ft away from her. so i'm looking at some jackets and i here over the loud speaker "can the parents of Ariel with the pink coat, please come to the front." that girl! i have to always have my ears open for not only her name but ariel, jasmine, tinkerbell, alice in wonderland or any other princess name!

Navy is 3! holy cow, how did that happen. she has been resisting becoming three for like 6 months now. every time i ever mentioned her birthday she would tell me "i don't want to be 3 or 4." then i would tell her "but you will be a big girl." the she says "but look...i'm still little." well this morning we went through this whole thing again until i told her " well i have a barbie cake waiting for you and some presents..." navy then stands up and says "ok ok it's my birthday, i'm 3...but i'm still little." who ever heard of a kid who WANTS to stay little!

She saw some barbie cakes at albertsons a long time ago and asked me if she could have one. to appease her i said "maybe for your birthday." well for anyone who knows navy, you know she doesn't forget ANYTHING. over the last several months she has randomly talked about the barbie cake she would get for her birthday, soooo, i made her one.

I'm pretty proud of it! i think it turned out really well! and yes it does say happy birthday jasmine. Navy changes her name to a different princess name daily. i asked her yesterday what her name would be today so i could put it on her cake and she said jasmine. so there you go...jasmine is three!
Along with turning three and being a big girl comes going the big kids class a church. this her after church on her first day being a Sunbeam (that is what her primary class is called.) she is wearing one of my old outfits that my mom saved. the sailor outfit is so fitting for her!

my mom came to visit us and we loved it. aiti is the only person that she will completely ignore for me. she chooses aiti over me every time.

the crazy crowd at papa's. it was sooooo fun and papa makes biscuits and gravy that are putting up a really good fight with my dad's for best and i have never had anyone even come close to that! navy got a barbie house from papa and grandma nancy an she looooooves it!

i got an apron from teijanavy with her ariel doll from santa and hello kitty bag from Dana!
she loves the puppies she got from sam and joe. she immediately named the brown one beyonce and the white one lady gaga.

Last few weeks in long beach

So as many of you know, we moved back to Rexburg so Brian could finish school. We will be here until July and so far i'm loving it! but first i wanna share with you the last few weeks we had in long beach.

I love the fall in southern california! the weather is perfect! we have been pretty busy the last few months. Brian toured with his friends' band, and Navy and i spent a month visiting family. first we went to salt lake, then to idaho, then portland. unfortunately i don't have any pictures cuz brian had our camera with him. i do however have lot's of pictures of what we have been up to since coming home. so here they are:

so i don't know if i am just a proud mom that thinks that her kid is the smartest, nicest, most creative 2 year old in the world, but i am just so impressed with her everyday! today she drew this, with zero help from me. i think she is amazing!!!

by the way, my finger feels great. i have no pain at all (even with no vicodin). everything is healing pretty well!

so last night i was making brian and navy a cookie dough milkshake with my hand-held blender. i finished it and was trying to get every last bit into the cup, so with my index finger of my left hand i was scraping the icecream out from around the blade. my thumb on the other hand accidently hit the button on the blender and before i knew it, my finger was sliced up really well. thankfully brian was right by me and acted fast. we wrapped up my finger in a towel, got navy dressed and into the car and we were off to the ER. 6 hours, several stiches, and a broken finger later i was home. not fun. my finger is mess but luckily intact.

we had so much fun on the 4th! we spent the day at the beach in Huntington Beach enjoying the waves (Long Beach doesn't get any waves) and then the evening and fireworks in Long Beach at a friends beach house. Navy is good friend's with two girls (Katie and Ella) that Sally babysits quite often, whose house we were at. So Navy loved every minute of it. Navy woke up on the morning of the 4th and told me "tonight...we'll be American's and see fireworks that look like flowers, fairies, and books!" she was so excited. when the time for fireworks came she wasn't scared at all and even got to do a few sparklers!

now we are getting ready to go to utah on Tuesday. we will be there from the 14th until the 28th! we can't wait to see all our family! See you soon!

so i always think that i am going to get better at keeping this updated but it never happens. so i guess you'll just have to take what you can get. we have been busy the last couple of months. the big highlight was going to my parents house for a few weeks while they were on a cuise to alaska. teija was there with us, the weather was perfect and we played outside almost the whole time. life is good. we then housesat for some kinda relatives (my brother in law alex's in laws). that was so fun cuz they have a few young kids that navy loves. i pretty much never say her cuz she was so busy playing. now we are back at home just getting back in the groove of things and loving life in long beach.

so brian has been drawing a lot lately for shirts he is designing for other bands (his graphic design is now our only source of income and it is working surprising well.) so navy loves to draw now too and always says she is making a shirt like daddy. usually her drawing of shirts turns into drawing on herself so today brian decided to go along with her and he did his own little drawing and this is what we got. she has become quite the model latley since i have been watching america's next top model. she constatly tells me "i'm a model. take my picture!" and proceeds to strike all sorts of modelesque poses. she cracks me up!

Happy easter everyone!! so it has been awhile since i have updated but we have been pretty busy. after living in sally and shane's living room for over a month (thanks so much guys!) we finally got a place of our own and i love it!! it is a small studio apartment in Long Beach! we are only a couple blocks from the beach! the apartment is old but cute! and little by little it is becoming more like home!

so today navy and i went to a park in huntington beach for some easter festivities! we had so much fun. they had a candy hunt, games, face painting, and of course it was at a park so we spent some time on the slides and swings. navy loved it and hasn't stopped talking about it.

so last night (at like 11:30 pm) navy got all dressed up in this outfit. i thought she was cute so i pulled out the camera and took like 20 pictures of her and she just kept posing. everytime i would take one she would change her pose. i swear she thought was in a photoshoot for Vogue magazine! she is such a ham! i couldn't get her to smile cuz i think she thinks models don't smile. i don't know where she comes from. i don't think i have ever even watched a model show with her but we do look at magazines! she is so much fun! i love this girl. she is growing up way too fast though. where'd my baby go?

well navy sure was she was looking pretty good! haha! can you belieave her poses! so the other night we went to a Robyn show (which was really good and if you don't know who she is you should definitey check her out. she was nominated for a grammy this year for new artist but didn't win) and this is what brian dressed her in. she is wearing the cutest little michael jackson shirt that says beat it. anyways. while we there navy was being her cute, funny, smart self and while i was looking at a magazine she turns to me and says "mommy i need a magazine." well there just happened to be a talent scout there and heard navy talkng to me who came up to me and says "this girl needs to be a star." and i was like "your right!" and the next thing you know we are setting up a time to meet for an interview with a hollywood management agency. we'll go in on saturday to see what the deal is but they are already talking pictures and acting classes and the works. it could be a scam but it could be legit. it doesn't hurt to look into it though. i have always thought she had star potential but i thought i was just biased but she does talk REALLY well and clearly for her age so who knows! i'll keep you posted!

it was so fun to see my parents! navy got to play in the snow, torture the catsand the dog, sit on santa's lap, be tortured by my dad (well maybe just teased), swing in the apple tree, and read lots of books with my mom. the last few days of our trip were freezing cold! like a high of 6 and a low of -6. soooo cold especially when here in LA everyone get's out there winter parkas and hats and gloves when it is 60 degrees. we are getting sooooo excited for brian's family to get here in a few days. navy is going to be out of control with her two young uncles. it is so cute to see how much she loves them even though she has only actually seen them in real life few times. they will be here on saturday!!most everyone has seen the pics already since i emailed them, but for those who haven't, here are some of the best.

first off, i'm sorry for not flipping the pictures but i'm using brian's computer and i'm just lucky i figured out how to get them up at all. i'll flip them when i have brian to help. sorry, i know they are a pain to look at. yesterday we went out and got a christmas tree! it's real little but it makes it feel a little more christmasy especially since it is 70 degrees on a cold day and we are surrounded by palm trees. navy loved to play with the fake snow and reindeer and snowman yard decoratios all over the tree lot. so next week navy and off to bonner's ferry again for 10 days so we'll have some real snow pictures soon. then when i get back bri's family is coming for a few weeks. we will have an exciting month coming up!

so we have moved to downtown LA. we are literally in the middle of all the big downtown buildings. our aprtment is amazing and i can't believe we live here. it is like staying at a fancy carribean hotel only we are here all the time (oh and we're in LA not some tropical island , but you would never know it is you never left our complex). there are 3 pools and hot tubs, an awesome gym with tv's on every machine, a sauna and and steam room, virtual golf, and bowling, an indoor basketball court, and water fountains and and tropical plants EVERYWHERE! it is seriously like we are on vacation but we would never even then stay at a place like this. here are some pictures i took off the website but you can check out more at http://www.theorsini.com/ apparently gisele (yes the gisele as in victoria's secret) lives here, i have yet to run into her!

the only drawback i s being right downtown so there are no grocery stores or parks nearby. lucky for navy our whole complex it one big park that she loves to explore!

i stole this picture from sara'sblog because i didn't bring my camera with me for the week i spent in huntington beach with nicole and sara. about a month ago navy and i went to HB to spend some time with my best friend's sara and nicole. nicole came down from idaho and sara was there from florida visiting her family. we had soooooo much fun. we went out to eat and to the beach lots. when we weren't doing those things we were hanging out at her grandma's pool. it was heaven. sara's sister mary was nice enough to babysit navy and sara's two kids a few times so we could have a more relaxing time at the beach or at restaurants. i loved it and navy loved swimming and playing with sara's kids. this is a picture of us at the beach. it was awesome being down there with two people that i love and miss so much. in about a month sara is moving to germany and will be there for at least 3 years. it will be so sad to not see her for a long time but i am so grateful that we had that amazing week together.

i spent 2 wonderful weeks in idaho with my parents. we love it there. navy plays outside all day picking flowers ("no no no!" she tells me when she does. but it doesn't seem to stop her), chasing the dog and cats and pulling their tails (once again i hear "no no no" but it didn't stop the whole time), and going for walks. we went to the nighbor's house and saw there cows, chickens, bunnys and cats. navy loved it. my sister even came up from portland for a few days and it was soooo fun to have her. navy loves her De De. mom had one of the weeks i was there off from work too so i got to see a lot more of her on this trip then i did on the last few. i love my mom. we are similar. thanks to dad we ate so much good food lot's of it having to do with huckleberries since my dad is obsessed with picking them. if anyone wants a huckleberry milkshake or smoothie, or pancakes, or pie, come on over cuz dad sent me home with a ton.

so i just got back from my parent's house in idaho and i have lots of pictures and stories to share, but that can wait. i just read the nicest, most heart warmng and tear inducing post from nicole about my sister and i and it required an immediate response. she has been my best friend since seventh grade. she is my better half. i know that term is usually reserved for spouses, but nicole has always made me want to be a better person. never mind WWJD, for me it was always WWND (what would nicole do?) she is such a good example to me. and loved me no matter what. we have so many memories. chris' cafe for early morning breakfast. i would go to her house at like 7 am in the summer time, sneak into her room and wake her up and we would go out to breakfast in our pajamas. nicole one of my favorite memories is laying with your mom in bed after a party and telling her all about it. she would gossip with us just like she was a sixteen year old girl. remember when your mom put on a big hoodie and came with us to a party at the beach? haha! anyways, look how cute these old pics are that i got off my parents computer. i love you nicole. don't those pictures just take you back in time?

after the wedding brian's parents rented ahouse in newport beach for a week and it was so fun. everyday we woke up, put on our swimsuits and layed out, flew kites, boogie boarded, rode bikes, and ate real good food. it was heaven. navy loved playing with her uncles and they loved her, and i loved having 24/7 babysitters.

so last week brian's brother alex got married to morgan in the san diego temple. it was so beautiful and brian's family came here from china for it so it was so fun. morgan was beautiful and alex was so cute. i loved their hats. at the recption all of us in the wedding party wore hots too. it was cute and it really made me think that i could have done things so much different for my own wedding. they just did everything they wanted and i didn't really pput much thought into mine. teija planned the whole thing (thanks)! =according to bri's mom, navy was the best decoration of alex's whole wedding! she was so cute just running around and playing with kids there. i barely saw her the wholetime. the only bad thing about it all was that it was way too hot even in in san diego. taking pictures was hard for all of us. i felt really sorry for alex in his suit. for the week after the wedding we stayed in a beach house right on the boardwalk in newport beach so expect a few more post and lots of pictures pretty soon.

i have so many pictures still to share. we just had so much fun. everyday navy asks for the dog and cat and it has been 2 weeks since we were there. she has such a good memory, it seems like she should remember me telling her not to get in the toilet or garbage can but i still have to tell her not to about 50 times a day. she has a very selective memory! hey nicole, tell me what the food storage pamphlet is called again. i'm gonna go get it. i haven't been able to stop thinking about food storage since we talked. i layed awake in bed thinking about it for like an hour.

so i just got back yesterday from visiting my parents for 2 weeks and it was soooo fun. navy loved it. she played outside all day everyday. chased the dog and cats until they got mad at her and scratched her and then went right back to chasing and pulling tails. my dad cooked us awesome food the whole time, teija came to visit for the weekend, and brian even got to come up for a day when his tour came through spokane. navy was so cute when she saw him. she seriously didn't let go of him the whole time he was there. we went on some fun weekend trips around the area. we drove all around norhern montana and went to hot springs montana and stopped at some awesome waterfalls along the way. it is so beautiful up where my parents live. i'm very loyal to beautiful lake tahoe but i have got to say that northern idaho and montana are just as pretty, minus all the tourists. i loves it there. lifes is so simple. my parents have 20 acres of beautiful wooded property. you can go for a long walk/hike for hours all on their land. they have planted an awesome garden and i know that when the world comes to an end they we will easily be able to live off their land and the fruits of their labor. we took so many pictures that i can't decide which ones to post so i'm just gonna put a ton up and then more later (and probably even more later). i'm happy to be back though to a place where my computer doesn't take forever to load a page and my cell phone works!

i don't know how to flip pictures so you'll just have to turn your heads. so navy came out of my room wearing this this morning. she has on my shirt and brian's skateboarding helmet. she wore them for like 20 minutes just prancing around. she was quite proud of her little ensemble. so right now brian is driving home from san francisco. he just flew up there yesterday. it seems that our little honda with nearly 300,000 miles on it, has finally kick the bucket. luckily we found out about a month ago the brian's aunt was looking to get rid of a car and we just needed to get up there and get it. soooo lucky. she even gave brian $100 for gas money. a free car and gas money! so we'll be driving a white '96 oldsmobile for awhile. at least it has air conditioning cuz it is supposed to be almost 100 degrees for the next few days here. yuck! on monday i am on my way up to idaho to stay with my parents for a few weeks while brian is on tour. i'm so excited! my parents are even more excited. navy will get to play with all the farm animals my parents neighbors have and mom and dad's dog and cats. she'll we in heaven!

so brian is in a band called love you long time and it takes up a lot of time in both of our lives. he started the band about 4 years ago and after several changes in the line-up of people, it is now brian (guitar,vocals, keyboard), his sister sally (keytar), her husband shane (bass), and our friend liam (drums). it's has taken awhile but they are doing so good now. they tour a ton, have some super legit managers and an entertainment lawyer and have played some pretty huge shows mostly in the utah and idaho area. they have played with colbie calet (sp?), dashboard confessional, the format, limbeck, aqua bats (twice), shiny toy guns and most recently eve six. it's so fun to be an (almost) rockstar's wife. their music is good and uplifting and they try hard to be good examples and share the gospel whenever possible. check them out at http://myspace.com/loveyoulongtime they just put up 3 new songs yesterday and they're getting tons of plays.

i have the best life!! i love being a mom. i have an awesome husband (who got me 7 2 liter coke zeros for mother's day) and the easiest, happiest little girl. i am so fortunate to be a stay at home mom. i love that i belong to a church that praises mother's and understands the importance of a mother staying at mom. i am so lucky to have a mom that raised in the church even without having my dad there with her. she was and is, so strong and patient and nonjudgemental. what a great example. here are a few new pictures. looking back

brian and i have been so blessed to be able to travel. we have so many memories and have done so many once in a lifetime things already. lately i have been thinking about life before navy, and even though i wouldn't change the way my life is with her in it, i do miss the freedom not having her allowed. i do count myself lucky though that we did do such awesome things before be had navy. all these pictures are of a trip bri and i took the summer after we got married while we were living in beijing. the first one is of us at about 14,000 feet at sunrise on a mountain in eastern china called Emei Shan. it took us all afternoon and most of the night to climb. we slept next to a buddist monastery and woke up to see the sunrise. so gorgeous.
the next picture in in tibet. we were just walking around the grounds of a monastery and ran in to these monks. they were on there way to bathe in a stream right behind us. we talked to them for a while. one of them knew a little chinese and we spoke a little chinese so we were able to communicate that way. while i tibet we stayed at monasteries, went to early morning chants (kinda like seminary for the young monks), rode yaks up a mountain, and saw enough buddist temples to last a lifetime. last year china opened a railway that goes from china to tibet. when we were there you could only fly in ( too expensive for mst chinese)or take a five day trip in a truck. for that reason there were very few people who visited tibet. now hundreds of people everyday go in. apparently now it is very touristy and nothing like what it was like when we visited. we went just in time.
the next picture is in thailand. heaven on earth! amazing food! so cheap! you can stay in a bungalow on the beach for less than $5 a day. the water is clean and beautiful and warm and you can mostly get by speaking english. everyone should go someday. we hiked around the islands with our backpacks and stayed at a different bungalow every night. we even stayed in a tree house with the water coming right up to the trunk when the tide came in. i felt like i was on the swiss family robinson. the next picture i didn't mean to put up and don't know how to take it off but it is Guilin in southern china. the mountains are like Dr. Seuss mountains. the next one is in thailand again eating dinner on the beach at little tables that were set up close to the water edge. i wish i remember what i was eating.
ok, well that's enough looking back. it's fun to remember. i wrote this post more for me then anyone else. i have never been good at keeping a journal, taking pictures, or blogging (obviously) but i just don't want to forget where i have been and what i have seen.

navy is growing up so fast. everyday she says new words and tries to mimic what we do and say. she is better at beat boxing the i am thanks to brian and she can make every animal sound that i can think of. she also says: mom, dad, walk, bike, baby, drink, chip,hi, bye, ant, birdie, bee, book, boy, girl and lot's more. she'll probably add like 3 more to that list just today. so she started walking right when we got home from china and that has changed our lives significantly. whenever i am carrying her around she ways "walk, walk" and it's nice cuz finally i don't wake up every morning with a back ache. life is good. brian's band is doing awesome, they got managers and an entertainment lawyer that is shopping there music around to labels, it's finally happening and i'm so proud of him even though she leaves navy and i for tour quite a bit. so a little bit about the pictures: the first is navy wearing one of brian's scarves. she always wants to wear one just like him. the next one is in china again. navy wants me to read her books all day long. she seriously would be more then happy if i just read to her all day long. the next one is of us when we visited my parent in idaho in like march i think it was. they are still living in a tiny trailer while they are finalizing the plans on their hour they are building. the next couple are just navy at home. she looks like such a scraggamuffin in the last one but i love it. anyways that' is a little bit about us. i'll try not to let 5 months go by without updating again but you me!! haha.

so i'm going to to put up a bunch of pictures of navy since that is all anyone wants to see anyways. all the first ones are from our Christmas in china 4 months ago. the first one is with her uncles sam and joe. i love that one cuz i think she looks like a porcelain doll. the next one is at the forbidden city on navy's birthday. it was freezing cold and navy was sick but we had to document her birthday at a cool place! the next two are at the great wall. navy was still sick and it was freezing and she wasn't too stoked about our hike up the wall. the next one is her birthday again. we should have taken a picture of the 50 chinese people taking a pictures of navy and all of us! we're like celebrities in china just cuz we're white and having navy there was nuts. the next one i took yesterday. she is looking down at some kids playing and at the swimming pool. we love it here in glendale. the weather is always nice and everything is so close by. look at her cute little chicken legs! so i suck at this whole blogging thing so i'm gonna publish this one so that i can put some more pictures up without them going to the top of this page.

Merry Christmas everyone. so i'm so sorry that i haven't written in so long but i have some big news! Christmas day we are leaving for China for almost 4 weeks. how awesome is that! brian's family lives there with his two little brothers (9 yrs old and 11 yrs old) and they said all they wanted for christmas was to see Navy. So off we go with an all expenses paid trip to beijing!! whoohoo! Brian and i lived there for 8 months after we got married and have been anxious to get back ever since. i's so ready for some kung pao chicken and some cheap shopping. navy will also have her first birthday there so we will have to go to the forbidden city or tianamen square then with a cake for some cool pictures and awesome memories. i hope everyone is doing well. we still live in glendale, ca and are loving it. i'm still wearing tee-shirts here everyday and sitting out on my porch eating breakfast in the warm sunshine. i am so excited to spend a winter with no snow after 6 years in rexburg. i'll write another post or two from china but until then have a merry chrstmas and a happy new year.

so i decided to start a blog because:

So a week ago or so sara tagged me so i'll start my blog with that.

What was I doing 10 years ago....

good times. 16 years old and just got my liscense. nicole and i are driving all around tahoe listening to sublime and looking for a party to go to. always an adventure being the drunkest sober girls there. then when it's time to leave we have to push start my little VW bug because it had problems with the battery. i wanna be back there so bad!

What was I doing 5 years ago...

at college living with Nicole in our cozy little house making BLTs and coke (it was real coke back then not diet) with fresh lemon and lime. Back to the future, or blue crush is playing on repeat in our bedroom.

What was I doing 1 year ago...

Married to Brian and pregnant. we are back in rexburg after a summer of touring with love you long time and living in Huntington Beach and working at the Cheesecake Factory. We had just found out we are having a girl. i am so excited because i so didn't want to have a boy. brian announces to his office at work that instead of having a ninja he is having a prissy ho.

What was I doing yesterday...

Hanging out at home with navy while Bri is at work. making yummy egg salad and homemade brownies (they taste just like the ones out of the box only they took a lot longer to make). We went on a few walks around our Glendale CA neighborhood and to the grocery store to get diapers. At night we watched Brian's cousin Brandon on Private Practice.

5 places I'd rather be...

1. In China visiting Brian's family and shopping.

2. On a Carribean cruise. I've never been on a cruises but i know i would love it.

3. In Tahoe hiking around or hanging out at Fallen Leaf Lake.

4. Asleep in bed, but Navy is in and i don't want to risk waking her up by going up there.

5. With my mom and dad in Northern Idaho eating good food from there garden.

5 treats and snacks that i love...

Pepsi Max, Coke Zero, whipped cream, bacon, Ben & Jerry's mint cookie ice cream.

What would i do with a million dollars....

Travel everywhere and bring a nanny. Buy a dependable car probably a Hybrid of some sort. Buy a house maybe in Sandpoint Idaho because it is close to my parents and the next Tahoe and when people figures that out property value is going to soar.
